Westport, South Island, NZ
This was taken at sunset in a small town on the dramatic and wet West Coast region of New Zealand, close to Cape Foulwind. The suburban streets were quiet during my out-of-season visit and on an evening walk I came across this bowling green.
I've just returned from a 1 month trip to New Zealand & Australia, which explains a short silence on my blog. I'll post more images soon.

Gnommero - Exactitude was published in Glasgow in December 2011
For this 3rd issue of the ongoing publication I submitted 'Percussion Tool' for a collaboration of text and image with Louise Shelley. Gnommero presents artists and writers responses to Italo Calvino’s series of published lectures, ‘Six Memos for the Next Millennium’. Assembled by Sarah Tripp and Eona McCallum. You can get a copy from Aye Aye Books.

Open Shelves - November 2011
A project conceived and co-organised with my studio-mate Hannah Warren, for ASC Open Studios weekend.
Open Shelves was a visual reference library open to visiting public and studio artists, generated from books on loan from artists in Erlang House Studios, SE1. This temporary resource encouraged an exchange of visual material and ideas between artists and aimed to make connections between practices at ASC studios.

above: Open Shelves Poster. I designed a logo for the library.
below: Library provenance form. ASC studio artists were provided with provenance forms to insert into their books.

Books were chosen for their high visual content and covered a diverse range of visually rich subjects: from science fiction to archaeology. The collection included artist’s books and publications, exhibition catalogues, magazines and journals. Illuminating the cross section of practices and current visual trends throughout the studio buildings.

The library housed over 200 books for the duration of the Open Studios weekend.

Visitors were encouraged to use the library photocopier to duplicate content for personal reference.

I'm showing some new work in '2HB: What we make with words' opening at the CCA in Glasgow next month. The exhibition opens on 1st December. On Saturday 17th December there is Book Fair and Glasgow Journals Launch Event, featuring many of my favourite publishers/publications: Book Works, Motto Distribution, 2HB and Gnommero amongst others.
