Open Shelves - November 2011
A project conceived and co-organised with my studio-mate Hannah Warren, for ASC Open Studios weekend.
Open Shelves was a visual reference library open to visiting public and studio artists, generated from books on loan from artists in Erlang House Studios, SE1. This temporary resource encouraged an exchange of visual material and ideas between artists and aimed to make connections between practices at ASC studios.

Books were chosen for their high visual content and covered a diverse range of visually rich subjects: from science fiction to archaeology. The collection included artist’s books and publications, exhibition catalogues, magazines and journals. Illuminating the cross section of practices and current visual trends throughout the studio buildings.

The library housed over 200 books for the duration of the Open Studios weekend.

Visitors were encouraged to use the library photocopier to duplicate content for personal reference.
